just a note on my personal dosing regimen now that i've been taking this stuff somewhat consistently for over a year. i've found that taking 2 piracetams (1600mg total) and 1 centrophenoxine (250mg) in the morning, and one or two piracetams (800mg) in the afternoon is a fine schedule to support sustained and clear attention.

i tend not to take other stuff that i've experimented with (vinpocetine, sulbutiamine). i'm not low in my attention and energy enough to need the boost/kick those give me.

any need for a larger dose of piractem has pretty much ceased too, and i sometimes/often skip the afternoon piracetam. perhaps my cholinergic system has adapted with new architecture to support the increased cholineric tone. maybe it's all the meditation i've been doing in the past year. it's probably both.

found a good balance with this over the past few months.. and meditating has helped me not want to blindly turn my brain off with TV anyway. so there are a couple shows i watch each week, but it's a diminishing presence in my life.

RI has restocked and shows no sign of running out; I've bought from them twice this spring. One great thing about RI is that they do provide volume discounts.

After you find if it works for you, buying multiple months at a time, or buying with friends can reduce the cost significantly, although buying powder and capping it yourself would likely still be cheaper.

well, i've had a couple of "slips". have mostly been successful, and have found myself stopping watching a show after a few min when i realized what a waste it would be of my time and energy.

i did watch "Role Models" last night though.. needed some stupid humor! :)

mostly i'm choosing to interact with real-live people instead of the television, and getting more work done routinely (though it's still hard to not follow the habits of procrastination with TV being such a great mind-suck).

i've also started paring down my procrastinatory crutches. this topic probably deserves it's own post, but i've found i can almost entirely forgo my semi-compulsive websurfing to 20+ sites, looking for tech or science news. instead i'm using an RSS feed reader to quickly identify the topics i do want to read, and thus i've mostly stopped the rote behavior of pulling up the next site i usually read to see if there is anything new (which is very addictive, since a partial reinforcement schedule of intermittent content is more highly conditioning than full or absent reinforcement).

i've also started deleting my presence on sites whose only purpose was to distract me. Livejournal is a case in point - i only used it to post silly meme results, and keep track of about 10 friends who post there.. but most of em post on Facebook too, so i don't need LJ!

This post is now obsolete, as I've been working on a unibody aluminum MacBook Pro 15.3", 2.8ghz C2D, with 4 gigs of RAM and a 320 gig drive, two NVIDIA cards, etc... It's MUCH nicer, though I'm still surprised at how the 13" black one performs with a clean copy of 10.5 on it.

it's come to my attention that Relentless Improvement has jacked their prices up on Piracetam, and they are selling off their last stock and won't be restocking.

given that, i suggest getting bulk powders and capping your own. this is a MUCH more economical way to go, especially now that RI charges $50 for 144gm of Piracetam, and (for instance) a 700gm bulk bin of 1Fast400's powder is about $25 from Amazon.

also, instead of Centrophenoxine, many people use Alpha-GPC or CDP-choline as a choline source (also available at Amazon).

aside from capping, one can just mix the powders into drinks.. though they taste horrible. ;)

well this article may be relevant:

if the eyes each use different parts of the word for recognition, i probably had a unilateral disturbance and the other half of my brain was filling in the wrong word.
